PTFE Raschig rings (100% pure PTFE) are a specialty plastic random packing designed for specific working environments and applications. The chemical performance is very stable, and it hardly reacts with any acid or alkali. PTFE Pall rings and Raschig rings can be used stably at temperatures from -260 to -100 degrees Celsius. A Raschig ring is a cylindrical length of tube widely used as a packed bed in columns in distillation and other chemical engineering processes. They are usually ceramics, metals or special plastics and provide a large surface area within the column volume for the interaction between the liquid and the gas or vapor. In a distillation column, reflux or condensed vapor flows down the column, covering the surface of the PTFE Raschig rings, while vapor from the reboiler flows up the column. When vapor and liquid flow countercurrently through a small space, they tend to balance. So less volatile substances tend to go down, while more volatile substances go up. They form what is now known as random packing and are capable of more efficient distillation than competitors using fractionation columns with trays.

PTFE (F4, Polytetrafluoroethylene) is a kind of plastic, which has following features:
High temperature resistance. Maximum working temperature is up to 200 to 260 degree for long term application.
Low temperature resistance. Working temperature is lower to -100 degree .
